Original Items: One-of-a-kind set. Captain Gordon Smith Murphy aka "Spud" Marine Corps serial number 240315 served as a China Marine before World War Two then fought in four campaigns in the Pacific theater during WW2. This collection of medals, souvenirs, and insignia belonged to him and document his service with the United State Marine Corps. Included in this set are the following:
- Original WWI USMC Good Conduct Medal with 3rd Enlistment Bar and Fourth Award bar engraved on the medal: No. 99816 Gordon S. Murphy 1st Enlistment 1933-1937
- Original China Service Medal
- Original Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal numbered 4874 on the rim
- Original Marine Commendation Medal with Valor device.
- Original Shanghai Open International Sports National Meet Medal dated October 10-20 1935.
- Original Dog Tag named to GORDON SMITH MURPHY 240135 USMC
- Original Chinese silver cigarette case with traditional Chinese dragons on the exterior. The inside reads TO SPUD WITH OUR DEEPEST APPRECIATION ERIN-VILLA LADIES.
- Original Chinese silver belt buckle with traditional dragons in high relief with the initials GSM engraved on the front.
- Original Silver basket ball stick pin that reads:
- Original silver bracelet with three silver basketballs and a polished silver EGA.
- Original Silver EGA collar pins.
- Original U.S. Marine Corps Expert Badge with Rifle, Carbine, Pistol, and Bayonet bars.
