Stone Lanterns were first used in ancient Shinto shrines where they served as votive lights. The rustic Shinto is a traditional Japanese lantern that builds on this centuries-old tradition. The Shinto lantern comes drilled for electrical wiring or can be lit with a candle or oil lamp. We carve the Shinto in beige granite. Comprised of five pieces.
This ikekomi-gata style stone lantern (post lantern) is installed by burying the base of the post directly in the ground or a concrete footing
